IDENTIFY THE PURPOSE OF YOUR WEBSITE… TRACK THE RESULTS
Be clear on what you want your website to do, then make sure you are tracking whether it is doing that. An e-commerce site sells products and services. Websites may generate leads and subscribers, provide customer support, provide detailed product information, and drive traffic to a physical location or something else.
Ask two questions:
- What is my website supposed to do?
- How will I know if it did that?
The answers to the first questions are the objectives for your website.
The answer to the second question are your key performance indicators, you can view your general site statistics or use a supplemental measurement platform – such as a website survey – to measure and report on these indicators.
